This morning I got the boys up early and we ventured out into the cold fog for a little photo shoot downtown. While we were taking these pictures it was 38 degrees and they were wearing nothing but thin shirts and jeans and no jackets to keep them warm. They obliged me and didn't complain (well Colton did a couple of times) but we kept the truck warm and as soon as we were done they hopped into the truck to warm up again.
I love this photo so I did it in black and white and in color. I like to play around with layers and different effects to give photos a "vintage-y" look so that is what I did with these pictures.
Here you can get an idea about the fog - it was probably only about 1/4 mile visibility and very cold!
This photo below is probably my favorite because it shows the silly side of Dillon and Colton and even Matthew is smiling in this one. I ordered a poster size of this one and I am going to be framing it and putting in on my wall.
For those who want to know, I used PicMonkey for my photo editing software. I have a few favorite effects, but if I had to pick my very most favorites it would be Intrepid and Daguerreotype. I always fade the effects because the original effects are so harsh. But they are so fun to play with and really do give your photos a "vintage-y" vibe to them. PicMonkey is really easy and user friendly and way less complicated some some other editing programs that will remain nameless. And its FREE!!
Because I am in a rush to get prints of some of these photos out, I am using Walgreen's for my photo processing. They do a decent job, but I also like Snapfish and Shutterfly when I am not in a hurry.
