We had a good Labor Day weekend. We mainly spent it at home, relaxing and playing with the boys. Matthew was with his mom this weekend and he was at the lake. On Sunday we took Dillon and Colton to the the Kansas City Irish Fest to see the The Elders play. For those who don't know who The Elders are, they are an Irish/Celtic Rock band and are truly superb. They put on a great show every time we see them and Sunday was no exception. However, we left early because there were just too many drunk people there with little regard for children (yes this was a family event) and I don't think we will be going back again anytime again. We will be attending the Weston Irish Fest in Weston, Missouri in October, but it is a much smaller event and The Elders will be playing during the day. Monday we spent the day at home playing with the boys and watching the first season of 24 on DVD. I never really watched in the past, but being the night owl I am, often catch episodes at night. I decided it was time to start from the beginning and funny enough even my husband likes it.
I am anxiously awaiting the mail these days. I have participated in two swaps (my very first ones!) and can't wait to see what the mail-lady brings. In my excitement of mailing out my two packages last week, I completely forgot to take pictures of what I had made for the swaps. Duh!
The next few months are sure to be exciting! I am a Democrat and I spent last week watching the DNC. I am excited about the Obama/Biden ticket and on Friday I went to the local Obama headquarters to sign up to volunteer. So over the next few months I will be doing this as well. That is all I really plan on saying about this, as I never intended on using this blog as a forum for my political beliefs.
I have been busy making Halloween decorations to put around the house. Halloween is a favorite holiday on mine and the boys. We love decorating the house, inside and out and spend a lot of time picking just the right costume. Sometimes I make them and other times we buy. If I can get them to decide soon enough, I will have time to make them their costumes. Fingers crossed!

Sorry you had a less than satisfactory experience at Irish Fest with your kids this year. If I could make a suggestion: next year bring them earlier in the day. We've got fantastic music all day long (if you like the Elders you'd have loved Pogey) and lots of things for kids to do. I think you'd find a much more kid friendly atmosphere before 9:00 on our closing night when the Elders take the stage.
Hope we'll see you again.
Thanks for the shoutout to Obama/Biden!
Sarah,
You are going to be very successful in all you do. The pieces I ordered from you are just lovely and right now as I sit here, I am again wearing the black earrings. You have all you need to make your business keep growing: great products in your shop, a passion for what you do, and super friendly customer service!
And, yes, OBAMA-BIDEN all the way! My brother in law is now on month 10 of his 2nd tour (this time it's 15 mos) and all in this family are 100% behind Obama!
